Laura Hodges is a Licensed Professional Counselor with vast experience in counseling individuals, couples, and children. She specializes in counseling individuals with issues of co-dependency, depression, anxiety, sexual issues, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anger issues, eating disorders, and women's issues, and through her Couples Counseling Program she can help couples build more meaningful and loving relationships. In addition, with Laura’s years of experience as a public school teacher and her school counselor training, she is knowledgeable about issues related to children and parenting.
As many issues actually mask feelings that need to be identified, Laura can help clients get to the core issues that are motivating behaviors such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, shame and anger issues. Throughout her many years of counseling, Laura has led and facilitated many groups, including Anger Workshop, Making Peace with Your Past, and Co-Dependency No More.
As lead therapist for the Meier Clinic day program in Virginia, she designed and was responsible for many of its group therapy programs including Communication Skills, Cognitive Restructuring, Spiritual Development, Relapse Prevention, Play Therapy, Self-Expression and Trauma Shame. She currently integrates many of these same programs in her individual and couples counseling.
